After the MASSIVE amounts of phone calls and emails I've been receiving over the last few days, I knew it was time to update this blog. I am now five days past my due date and more than ready to have this baby. We are scheduled to have an induction on Friday, August 15th. We'll check into St. Vincents around midnight tomorrow and hopefully have a baby by the end of the day! Yeah!! Everyone is very ready for me not to be pregnant anymore. The hormones and impatient waiting have taken a toll on everyone who's been around me - mainly Chris and my sister, Jan. I'll try to get some pictures and perhaps even a video posted on here as soon as I get home.
Oh, another quick update. To dust off my Boston vernacular, I took a major digger last week. My sister and I took a long, slow walk in hopes of starting some contractions. As we made our way through a quiet, residential neighborhood, I fell very hard - belly first - into the pavement. As you can imagine, I freaked out. We immediately called Chris and my doctor who told us to immediately go to the Labor and Delivery Unit. Both the baby and I were fine but I was kept for observation for the whole day. It was a close call and very scary but it's amazing how God designed the human body for pregnancy. I still haven't figured out why I fell but I've been banned from flipflops until after the delivery.

I am so glad that you sent me the link to this! And glad to hear that you are ok after your spill! That is scary! So, yay for Friday! Good luck and keep me posted! I will be in Powell from Sep 1- Oct 24 doing one of my clinical rotations and hopefully moving back after the first of the year! We can get together!!!! Love you!!!
Hooray! If it were me, I would've been induced a week ago...
Did you try castor oil or any of the other suggested methods?
You're not the only one who has had scary falls when pregnant. When I was pregnant with Carissa I crashed on a bike and then the day before I was to be induced with Isaiah we took a speed bump a little too hard and it jump-started labor.
I can't wait to see pictures! We'll be thinking of you and praying for you. Good luck!
Dude! I can't believe you left fair Buffalo! And it's been so delightfully cool (ish) and rainy this summer!
Congratulations on your impending new person! And thanks for the update.
Love, Mags.
I'm stoked you have a blog! And I'm stoked you're having a baby on Friday!!!!!!! Praying hard.
GOOD LUCK TODAY!!! all my love to the cancro family.

dan
