Sorry it's been awhile. Jeez. Two weeks. Anyway...
So Ava has just hit her teenage baby years. I know this by the hallmark signs that any parent would recognize. Increased moodiness, unending demands and acne. This child was perfect the first two weeks. Suddenly, between 2-6 pm she has to feed every 1.5-2 hours and is mad as hell at worst and high maintainance at best. She is also covered in baby acne. From what I read in all the books, this is just a phase and will pass. In the meantime, I will have to continue photoshoping all the pictures I take. (I know, I know...that probably makes me a bad mommy.)
Now with the positive. She will sleep through the night if we let her. During the morning hours, she is starting to smile and coo. One big smile wipes all the previous crankiness away. Man, I live for those. Miraculously, she is also very good once her Daddy gets home. This is a huge blessing given that Chris is currently on a ridiculously demanding and stressful rotation. Ava is also growing like crazy. The little onsies that were a bit big last week suddenly don't fit. I guess that's what happens when she gains a pound a week. That milk has to be going somewhere. Our little girl is getting big and strong.
Auntie Renee is coming in this weekend for a very quick trip and we're all very excited. The next weekend some cousins from Denver are visiting and then Grandma Patti and Pop Pop are back out for another visit. I can't wait to see them all.
Quick little observation: None of the little shoes/booties that come with newborn outfits will fit her feet - way too small. The hats, however, are huge! Is this the case with all newborns or is my child just wildly disproportional? Somehow I got these hats to stay on long enough for a picture or two. Notice no socks or botties though!

She is so sweet! I'm impressed she sleeps through the night.
That picture of the three of you is totally great. (I even stole it for my very own files.) Sounds like you are enjoying Mommyhood- when Eva's not acting too adolescent.
We will be next it looks like. I am 18 weeks along myself. Doc says its "probably" a girl. I cant wait.
Love, Alecia
